ELF 11 Piece Studio Brush Collection (1st Impressions)

I’m sooo excited to be finally getting this brush set in the mail today. I will do a more indepth review once I try out the brushes but here are some thoughts. I heard shipping to Canada is a pain when ordering from ELF. For me it was ok. I ordered in the beginning of March and got it today on the 23rd. But shipping is pricey though. $14.95. None of the cheaper shipping codes work for shipping to Canada. This is what I did and I shall teach you my trick. If you sign up for an account on their website you can get notified whenever they have coupon codes. They have them all the time. First of all you have to buy 30 bucks worth of stuff (I say… ELF doesn’t require you). Second get a 50% off code (such as why its good to get those email notifications). Your price now would be 15 bucks. When you add in your shipping it goes to $29.95. It is basically like you had free shipping. The only way it works. Trust me.
When I was looking for brushes… I was thinking Sigma Brushes since they are comparable to MAC and way more affordable. I was only willing to spend no more than $50 on a brush set that came with a brush roll. I was thinking of the travel brushes cuz it had some of the brushes I needed (a flat top one and a angled blush one). Ok shorter handles who cares since I have small hands but there is shipping on top of that. The set itself 5 brushes plus the roll was $50. Then I looked at Crown brushes since Kandee Johnson the makeup artist raves about it. I also read in a blog about someone having a very negative customer service experience with them and the brushes turned out crap. So then onto ELF cuz a lot of people talk about it and some don’t seem to think its the best quality brand but for its price and whatnot its pretty good.
At first (when ordering) I didn’t like how it came in a zippy bag. I mean there are slots for the brushes. Now that I think of it… its better cuz the brushes won’t fall off and they would stay clean and secure in the zippy. I tried taking some brushes out and putting some of my fave brushes in so they fit. Great for travelling tho I won’t be travelling much in the next little while cept maybe in the summer for a weekend or something.
They messed up and didn’t give me the small precision brush but gave me 2 of the small angled brush. Tho I don’t use angle brushes much so don’t need 2 of them but at least they didnt leave out a blush brush or a flat top or something that I really wanted in the kit.
I will try all of the brushes and give ya’ll a detailed review.
Until Next Time…
