GLOSSette here! I never thought in a million years would I say that my Filofax is helping me with my finances. For the last couple years, I haven’t been keeping track of my spending because I didn’t have a steady part time job. Soooo it was hard to keep track of things when you are putting out more than you earn. I had some back up stash of money and I did work here and there doing odd jobs so I wasn’t broke if that is what you are wondering.
I officially started a permanent part time job in the beginning of August so I started to keep track of my spending on an excel spreadsheet. I had a section where I can total the expense based on categories. For example, food would be broken down to eating out, groceries, and snacks. The other section is where I was able to log daily spending. I found it hard to transfer the information from one section to another. I find it easier if I am able to see the info in front of me while I transfer the info.
I got some sample finance sheets from one of the Filofaxes I bought. I was going to use them but I didn’t want it to run out and have to buy them from Filofax which can cost a lot. However, I was just in a conversation with someone on YouTube last night in which I suggested that she can photocopy her finance sheet so that she can have extras without having to purchase them from Filofax. UMMMMM… I can basically do that too!
